Back together

Back together

In Drama this week we were all back together after Spirit Level last week.

We started in the morning with talking about Spirit Level and what we all thought of it. Those involved including myself said what happened during the five days of the project and how we thought it went. We got feed back information from members who did not attend it and feed back forms from audience members most of these we positive but some had some helpful advice for if we do something similar in the future we found this very helpful indeed this took all morning then we had lunch. During the break Brandon got a birthday cake for Anthony Ogle who was 38 today and we sang him Happy birthday. We had a visitor called Anthony who will help us with technical issues.

In the afternoon first of all looked at the Steep Rain production we may do at the South Bank in London next year this will involve all the group plus loads more volunteers. There will be someone crying and their tear will be filmed rolling down their face and eventually turning into a rain drop. Later in the story there will be a coloured Umbrella making a journey and being blocked by black ones who one by one turned into coloured umbrellas. We finished with discussing us all do monologues or duologues either on our own or in groups of two or three. We heard some examples Sam doing a piece from Alan Ayckbourn’s Imaginary Friends, myself saying a monologue by Santa Claus to Mrs Claus asking her to come back to him after going off with the Easter Bunny and Jamie doing the St Crispin’s Day speech from Henry the 5th. We then saw Sir Lawrence Olivier and Sir Kenneth Branagh saying the same speech they were quite different to each other.

I enjoyed today’s session and I hope the rest of the cast did as well.
