30 Apr Today in Drama
Today in drama our visitors were Val, who some of us know; she came to see if she wanted to be a drama volunteer? The other visitor was Charles Yarwood, a local councilor. Those not there were Sam K as she was unwell and Stephen was away.
We started with Brandon and Anna talking about the Tuesday group’s production of Romeo and Juliet at The Nomads Theatre last week – they said it went well. Next Brandon told us that Pip and himself went to Fetcham Park House last week as a possible location for the filming of the play I wrote, Lord Upright and Grovling. After that he said Rachel Barnett had written a few new scenes for her play, Your Call Is Important To Us. He hoped we would have time to go through it later today. The next item was that he and some others had been to the National Theatre last week about filming Steep Rain there on September 1st.
Next Wendy thanked us all for our thoughts on her boyfriend Bob passing away last week.
Jamie and David told us that our version of the Find a Property Dot Com Rap is currently 24th in their chart, and the people there like it and hope it will go up further.
Anthony O’Sullivan said he had been in a horse riding competition at the weekend and won it! He showed off his rosette to us all.
Terri then said she listened to a radio program over the weekend saying how important drama was; we all agreed.
We then watched some films and slides on Steep Rain, Romeo and Juliet, and Fetcham Park House. We then had lunch break. During the break a few of us bought our Freewheelers fleeces for future productions.
In the afternoon we started with Steep Rain including the new parts. The final item was my play, Lord Upright and Grovling. It was in pairs, with one person being Lord Upright and the other Grovling. There was not time for me to be in it but I did not mind.
