14 May Rehearsing hard in drama
We started with Brandon telling us all that the cost of performing Steep Rain at the Olympic Stadium would be £61,000. We would try and get a cheaper price; if not we will perform the Trust dance instead. We then watched the Steep Rain film transferred to an iPad by a professional company. Next we tried composing a letter to Lord Sebastian Coe about putting on Trust at the Olympic Stadium. Sonas and Anthony O’Sullivan did the Trust dance with the film of it in the background. We then rehearsed Steep Rain – the new bit where we go across the stage in sections. I was with Luke T. I forgot to say our visitor was Jess, who is the daughter of Pip, and Terry was not there today.
In the afternoon, we continued the Steep Rain scene we did earlier. Then Jess helped us write the letter to Lord Coe I mentioned before. After that we went through my play Lord Upright and Grovling, in pairs. I was with Anna. Finally, Brandon said we may have to meet in August, as we have a lot of shows to get ready for. Loads of people said they could not do that, so we will have to do it during the first week back in September – probably more than just Monday. We said that would be fine, as we did not think our Scola courses would have started by then. In conclusion I enjoyed it today and I think the rest did as well.
