13 Jul A brilliant Freewheelers night at Epsom College
Last night, Thursday July 12th, Stephen and I went to the Film and Dance Evening at Epsom College. We went with Freewheeler member Mark McRonald, plus Hemmet House user Kirsty and staff members David and Alison.
We started by Stephen and I helping volunteer Ray being Parking Stewards and telling the vehicle drivers where to park. It was raining hard so we got wet, although my mum did lend us some umbrellas when she arrived, which we were grateful for.
The entertainment was good. The first act included Skiing, a dance by the Thursday group; a Campaign for the Freewheelers; Colours, a dance by the Tuesday group; the Mathew James Experience, a film on Mathew James, a former member of the group, and Greased Lightning, a dance by the Thursday group. There were some other acts.
Then there was a twenty minute interval. In the second act, items included a dance of Steep Rain by the Tuesday group, and a Titanic Tribute by several members. We’re Gonna Fly, the song sung by Luke T, from Your Call Is Important To Us, was danced to by Anna and Vince. Also Gold, a dance by the Tuesday group; two episodes of Shady Oaks, a film about a dodgy care home (they were Olympic specials); the Trust dance by Sonas and Anthony O’Sullivan, and finally Dance With Me, a dance involving the whole cast. There were also other acts in the second half.
In conclusion I enjoyed the evening and I am pretty sure the rest of the audience did too.
