27 Nov Practising and writing at The Bridge
Today in drama we had no visitors, and everyone was there!
We started with Parachute Games. Then Brandon said what we might do later in the day, including a run-through of Your Call, Terri’s script on communication, and Disability Workshops.
Then Viv said if we are worried, or have anything we want to suggest, we could see any of the tutors or volunteers. Brandon said he won £10 on the lottery at the weekend. We may do a film of Your Call at the drama festival in Leatherhead in April. Next he said about Your Call at Bracknell on February 5th.
We then had full rehearsal of Your Call, from the start to the end. Susan said that on December 10th there will be a Mask Workshop with Trestle Theatre Company; myself and others will need a CRB Police check for that day, and she told me what information I will need to bring for this event.
The Your Call rehearsal took to lunch.
In the afternoon, we were looking at Luke T’s song, You’re Gonna Fly, from Your Call. Luke then said he has written some new songs for the group, and Andrea and Luke went through the lyrics: they were saying you can do anything if you try hard enough. He had not thought of a tune, so whilst he did so with Andrea and a volunteer, the rest of us went into another room and looked at Terri’s play on Communication.
We then did some drama games on the same subject (like chinese whispers and others).
We finished off by going to see how Luke was getting on with the tune to his first song: he had the beginning and will continue next week.
In conclusion I enjoyed today’s session and I think the rest did as well.
