04 Dec Experimenting with Forum Theatre methods
Today in drama our visitor was Mark, a possible new member. The only one not there was Anthony O’Sullivan.
We started welcoming Mark, then had a warm up. Next, we had Luke T’s song You’re Gonna Fly, from Your Call, then the final scene from the same play, followed by a drinks break.
We then looked at Terri’s script on Communication, and Jamie talked about Forum Theatre, when the audience change the outcome of a sketch or play, by changing the ending.
After that, we read through one of Terri’s stories, Sad News from a Cheerful Lady, using the Forum Theatre idea to change it at the end.
Then we had lunch, during which we briefly listened to Frank Sinatra songs.
In the afternoon, we went through Terri’s other story, Volume / Valium, again using the Forum Theatre idea to alter the ending.
We finished with a vocal warm down, taken by Andrea. Brandon reminded us that Trestle Theatre Company are coming next week for a Mask Workshop. Some of us need to bring our CRB (police clearance) information along for this.
In concluding, I really enjoyed it today and I hope everyone else did as well.
