Play in a Week, part one

Play in a Week, part one

Dear All
Here is Part 1 of PIAW, or Play in a Week, at Leatherhead Theatre. I have mislaid my notes so it may not all be there.
I arrived at about 10am, then met the other Freewheelers taking part, including Rachel, Brandon, Jamie and Andrea, as well as the young people involved; all seemed very friendly.
We started with a warm up, then we introduced ourselves with an action to go with it. After this we talked about the week coming up and what is involved: we were all very excited about it. I think we then read through the play as a group. It is called Rainbow’s End, and is set in the Seventies, and had two Giants who do not get on, and have an eating competition. They end up eating loads of plants, land, animals and people. Everyone is unhappy except the Giants. Then a person called Rainbow encourages them to do something about it. Then we had lunch.
In the afternoon we started rehearsing the scene with the Giants, using shadows, followed by the rest of the show. We finished off with a cool down.
Part 2 tomorrow!
