09 Sep Overview of Lord Upright and Grovling
today in drama we had no visitors and those not there were Sonas, Luke Tye and Dan.
We started in the morning with Brandon talking about the filming of my play, Lord Upright and Grovling at Starborough Manor in Edenbridge, Kent, last Wednesday and Thursday; we will watch it later. Then Brandon said we will film Steep Rain at the Spectrum Leisure Centre, Guildford, on October 21st and 22nd.
Then Brandon said that he talked to Rachel Barnett about our ideas for the future, and she is interested; we may perform in various festivals.
Next, we watched the Lord Upright and Grovling film, and thought it went well. We will do more at the house of Pip, one of our volunteers, probably sometime in October.
We then had a warm up and a rehearsal of Steep Rain. Then was lunch, during which we looked at stills pictures of Lord Upright and Grovling, and signed a ‘Freewheelers thank you card’, to thank Lyn and Jonathan Mathias for use of their house for the filming of Lord Upright and Grovling last week.
In the afternoon we continued rehearsing Steep Rain, then did a sketch with Anna as a pretty lady and Luke H as a man who admires her. Then we listened to some comedy songs; the song for Anna and Luke T is Italian, and called La Bamba; it was funny. Brandon asked us to bring in any comic songs of other types that we particularly like, so we can perform to them in future productions.
I really enjoyed today’s session, and I hope everyone else did too.
