Preparing to film Lord Upright and Grovling

Dear All
Here a review of this week’s drama session.
Today the visitors were: Victoria, a volunteer who normally comes on Tuesdays. Those not there were Nick, Nigel, Chris Crane; Dan arrived later, and Terry in the evening.
We started in the morning with Brandon telling us all that Chris Crane is at Centre Parks this week, so will not be in.
Then Brandon reminded us that we will be filming Lord Upright and Grovling on Thursday and Friday of this week, at the house of one of our volunteers, Pip; 10am-5pm both days. It will be the scenes we have not done at Starborough Manor in the summer, plus a possible new one, which we will write later today.
Next, Brandon mentioned we will be looking at pictures of Steep Rain, taken by Ava de Souza, (photographer) two weeks ago at Guildford Spectrum. Brandon talked to animator Mathew Dean, who did some drawing for Steep Rain; he may come and visit us, and asked who was interested – several members said ‘yes’.
Then we looked at the Freewheelers Wheel which has the group’s aims on it. We then looked at the photos taken by Ava; we looked at them on a computer. After that, Olivia, a lady who will play Betty the maid when we film Upright and Grovling, came to visit.
Nigel told us this will be his last session with us and he hopes to watch some of our productions. Next, we read through the scenes in Upright and Grovling that Olivia is involved in. Followed by lunch.
In the afternoon, we split up. Brandon took the people involved in Thursday and Friday’s filming of Upright and Grovling at Pip’s home. Dan was Lord Upright, Stephen as Grovling, and Terry was Lady Uppington, or Davinia. Plus Sam K., Sonas, Soufyan and Luke T, who came along to support; I was there as the playwright. We read through episodes 5, 7 and 8. We then did episodes 5 and 7 again.  We decided not to write a new scene to introduce Betty the maid. We filmed episode 4a again, with Olivia as Betty. We did film this scene in the summer, with Pip’s niece playing Betty; I cannot remember her name at the moment.
In conclusion, I really enjoyed it today and I hope everybody else did as well.
