23 Jun Sharing news and rehearsing at The Bridge
In drama this week we had no visitors and those not there were Terri, Ems, Nick and Luke Tye.
We started with Brandon talking about Freewheelers shows coming up soon; including the Youth Group’s shows on July 13th (I am not sure where), and on July 16th the Tuesday group are showing A Twist on Oliver at The Nomad Theatre, East Horsley.
The following week, also at The Nomad, from July 20-24th, is Play In A Week, with the performances on that weekend: Saturday 25th in the evening and Sunday 26th matinee, of King Arthur and the Quest for Camelot. Then Brandon talked about PIAW (or Play In A Week) audition day The Grange in Bookham on Friday. I mentioned it too; we said it went well.
Ashley then mentioned a performance of a Nelson Mandela play at the Leatherhead Theatre, coming soon. Jamie saw Secret Cinema’s Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back (at a secret location); he said he liked it.
We then watched two films: Freedom Game – The Magna Carta Opera at the Royal Albert Hall, London that some members were involved in some weeks ago; plus Steep Rain, that we all were in at The Spectrum Leisure Centre, Guildford, a couple of years ago.
Next we read through a new additional scene for Cold and Wet that we wrote last week; then was lunch.
In the afternoon we acted out the additional scene we read through in the morning. In conclusion I think today went well and I hope the rest agree.
