Rehearsing and audio descriptions

Rehearsing and audio descriptions

Dear all

Here is a review of today’s drama.  As we did lots I may not mention everything but I will try and include most of what we did do. We had no visitors and those not there were Ems and Nick.

We started with Brandon welcoming us all and then saying that later today we will be rehearsing the QEF Big Laboratory Bang play for those involved – including myself as an understudy for Nick’s part and Professor Alan – and also a play about audio description. Emily (Andrea’s step-daughter) then showed us all a slide show to do with our current production.

Richard and others mentioned that they went to Dorking last week for performances including the Trust dance with Sonas and Anthony; the Tomorrow dance from our current production and Luke Tye singing – all went well despite technical and other problems.

We then split up: Andrea took the audio description in one room and Brandon took others in the main room to rehearse Big  Laboratory Bang – I was Professor Alan filling in for Nick – then we had lunch.

During the break we gave Wendy Hempkin a special iPad, as she has been with the Freewheelers for around 25 years and was now leaving!

In the afternoon we heard how the audio description group went: they said it went well. We then split into groups to audio describe various stories we will act out without words; I was with Peter (volunteer), Brandon, Luke H and Anthony. I will tell you what we acted out next week when we do so to the rest of the group. Some did their sketches this week but there was not enough time for our one.

In conclusion I think today went well and I hope the rest will agree.
