Receiving The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service

Dear all

Her Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant of Surrey, Mr. Michael More-Molyneux, came on Tuesday to give out a special award to The Freewheelers for all their work in the local community of Leatherhead for about 30 years.

Mr More-Molyneux came at about 11.30am, along with his son.  Later on Mr More-Molyneux Senior made a speech and gave out the special award on behalf of the Queen, and Karl Newman  (Freewheelers’ Chairperson) spoke. Earlier, Brandon welcomed us all to the event; I then assisted Mr More-Molyneux Senior cut a cake to mark the occasion, and had my picture taken by a man from the local newspaper doing so.

I was invited as a founder member of The Freewheelers. The photographer took lots of other pictures. Later on there was a show which was a Charlie Chaplin dance routine, which was really good to watch and everyone liked it.

In conclusion I think it was a good morning’s entertainment and I hope all those involved would agree.
