Hoping for funding for the New Year!

Dear All

Here is my first drama entry for 2018 after the Christmas and New Year  break. There was quite a lot that we did, so I may not mention everything but will try and include most of the items.

We had no visitors and everyone was there this week. We then talked about shows we had watched during the break.

Brandon saw a show called Airplay(?) at Brighton and liked it; I saw Jack and the Beanstalk at Wimbledon Theatre. In the cast for this was comedian Al Murray – I saw this with my mother. We also watched Dick Whittington at the London Palladium; in the cast for this were Elaine Page, Julian Clarey, Nigel Havers, Gary Wilmot, Ashley Banjo and  Diversity and a ventriloquist with his puppet Sam.

Viv said she is trying to get funding for our next production from The Arts Council, as we did not get it last time. We wished her good luck with this.

Then we talked about the next production, and, if we get the funding, all the people we will need to help us with it: playwright Anita O’Sullivan,  puppeteer Nick Barnes, musician Tom Gray, and Andrea for movement. We will know about The Arts Council funding in around six weeks. If we get it, we will perform at NESCOT College, Ewell, and The Nomad Theatre, East Horsley, hopefully in December.

Next, we talked about performing the Tomorrow song from Destiny Betrayed. We then did a storyboard for the bus scenes. Next, we rehearsed part of it. Then we had a warm up session with Andrea, then more work on the bus scenes. I think we then had some lunch.

In the afternoon we continued to rehearse more bus scenes and the storyboard for them. Brandon said we all did well.

Finally I think today’s session went well and I think the rest will agree.
