22 Jun Fawlty Towers comes to The Bridge
in drama on Monday we had no visitors and those not there were Nick Welenski, Mathew James and Luke Tye
We started with talking about tonight’s England V Tunisia World Cup match. I then mentioned about my father passing away recently – everyone was understanding. Richard Watson said his brother did the London to Brighton Bike Ride; Brandon mentioned it too.
Brandon then said that Anita Suleiman and Tom Gray will be back next week, so we need to read the story line for Return to our Senses. He then started to do so.
Next we watched some programs on the computer, including an episode of Fawlty Towers called The Wedding Party, plus The Ministry of Silly Walks from Monty Python, and episodes of Mr Bean. Then was lunch; we sang Anna Vere Happy Birthday.
In the afternoon we talked about Sybil Fawlty and described her in a few words, including ‘domineering’. Next, we went into groups to invent a saying and a movement for Sybil Fawlty, Basil Fawlty and Manuel. Sybil said, ‘Oh, I know!’ and, ‘Shut up, Basil!’
Basil said, ‘It is not my fault’, and Manuel said, ‘I learn English from book.’
I was with volunteer Lucy, Poppy, Luke H, Jamie and Stephen. We then performed to the other groups. Brandon said we did well and everyone liked it.
I think we did well today and hope all those involved would think so too.
