Do Not Disturb!

Do Not Disturb!

Dear All
Here is this week’s drama blog. Hope you all like it.
Today we had no visitors, and those not there were Poppy and Ems.
We started with Mathew James saying he was with his singing group (called Apollo 5) near his home this weekend, and enjoyed it. Soufyan saw a comedy about a bank robbery in Brighton last week and he liked it.  Soufyan also went to Oxford for a late birthday treat, and sat in an Aston Martin car; he said he liked it.  Richard Watson saw a Cilla Black Tribute Act recently, and he thought it was good. Richard also saw a program about brain tumours and said it was interesting.
We then read through Do Not Disturb from the start to Scene 9, page 9; then lunch.
During lunch break some of the group listened to Matthew James singing with his Apollo 5 singing group at a church near were he lives. They sang a love song – I cannot remember which one at the moment.

In the afternoon we continued to read through Do Not Disturb from Scene 9, page 9 to the end. This included the family scenes round patient Robbie’s bedside after he falls into a coma (after being disturbed in the shower  his hotel room, when the people who come in to change the bedding and items in the bathroom walk in on him). I play Robbie’s dad, Terri his mum, Jamie the brother and Zena the girlfriend. These scenes were emotional.

The Hotel scenes will be filmed at a hotel in Brooklands later in the year sometime, and then the performances at The Nomad Theatre, East Horsley, sometime in January next year- I think the 31st?
I think today went well and I hope that all those who were there will think so too.
