11 Dec In a Coma at The Bridge!

Today in drama the two visitors were Anita Sullivan (playwright) and Nick Barnes (puppeteer).
We started with Brandon telling us all that Tom Gray (musician) will not be in today, but will be next week. Brandon then said the Hotel scenes from Do Not Disturb will be filmed in the New Year, at a hotel in Brooklands, Weybridge.
Richard Watson then said the Dance Group are performing a Christmas Show sometime in December, in the morning at Christchurch and the afternoon in Cobham. Then we listened to the Back To Reality song from the play, followed by The Body Parts song. Next, a full rehearsal of Do Not Disturb, from the start to finish. Brandon said we did very well.
We then had some lunch.
In the afternoon we rehearsed the play from the start to the ferris wheel scene, including the family scenes by patient Robbie’s bedside. He falls into a coma in his hotel room. He leaves the sign on his hotel room to ‘Please Make Up My Room’ instead of ‘Do Not Disturb’ – so the people who come to change the bedding and items in his bathroom walk in on him in the shower. In shock, he then falls over and ends up in a coma. Zena played the girlfriend; Jamie, the brother; Terri, the mother, and myself the father. As usual these scenes were very emotional.
In conclusion I think we all did well today, and I hope everyone else who was there will agree.
