14 Mar Visitors for The Bridge

Here is my usual drama blog for today. Hope you all like it!
The visitors were Nick Barnes (puppeteer) and Josh (Nomad member). Those not there were Poppy, Soufyan and Nick Walenski.
We started with welcoming Nick and Josh. Then a full run-through of Do Not Disturb for Nick and Josh to watch.
Next Nick and Josh said what they thought of the production. Nick said it was good but he suggested more use of puppet Robbie; and Josh said he enjoyed it but some scenes were clearer to him than others.
Then lunch time during which we sang Freewheeler volunteer Alison Happy Birthday for tomorrow.
In the afternoon we had an Improvisation Drama session with Matt Selley, as Brandon and Andrea had a meeting with Nick Barnes. We started by talking about what Improvisation means to each of us – we all had different suggestions. Matt said they were all good.
Then we played drama games like Zip Zap Boing, next Number Games – saying the numbers 1 to 20 in turn, then 20 to 40 but without two people saying the same number at the same time; the highest number we got to was 35.
Next we split up to do various drama sketches. I was with Anthony O’Sullivan, and we were two people at a funeral. But we were looking at a mobile phone and finding out that we had won money on the National Lottery, but trying not to upset the others mourners at the funeral by shouting out we had won. So we did high five hand signals instead.
We then got together to perform to each other. Josh also helped take the Improvisation Games with Matt Selley.
Other sketches included someone only saying the word Wednesday to any question they were asked, a flower seller who cannot help sneezing but trying to keep it a secret from their customer, and someone whose day always goes wrong. All of these were funny to watch.
I think today went well and I hope the rest who were there will think so too.
I also told Brandon that I will be going to The Nomad Theatre, East Horsley, this Saturday with my mum to the annual PIAW (Play in a Week) Quiz Night. Josh said he will see me there.
