The day after the great Film Evening Freewheelers were invited to perform as part of Surrey Community Foundation's Celebration of Giving at Guildford Cathedral. The Community Foundation had run a photographic competition for local charities, and our photographer Ava de Souza's photograph of Rachel Mold was awarded as Highly Commended. Ava won £250 for Freewheelers, for which we are very grateful. Her wonderful photographs have played a huge part not only in showing people what we do, but also in showing others clearly the personalities and charisma of those we work with. The prizes were given out at the end of a reception in the Cathedral attended by most of the local mayors (the "chain gang" as they are affectionately known!) and other charitable people from across Surrey. And then, Anthony O'Sullivan and Sonas Musana performed their "Trust" duet, beautifully, at the foot of the alter steps. Thomas Gray's haunting music filled the air, and the audience loved it (including the Dean who was sitting on the steps in all his robes). We are grateful to Surrey Community Foundation for this opportunity to show our performance work.
