Thanks to a grant from the Royal Academy of Engineering, The Freewheelers Theatre Company and Redbird Media are producing a creative project bringing disabled artists and engineers together.
We will be exploring notions of accessibility together through a series of theatrical workshops and the creation of a video depicting a fictional island that has been designed and engineered specifically for disabled people.
We will be running five x two-hour development sessions with engineers, as well as delivering a series of workshops for schoolchildren once the video is produced.

We are hoping that engineers who need to think about accessibility and the Disability Discrimination Act will find this a stimulating, informal and creative way of exploring ideas and developing a deeper understanding of disability issues. We also hope to forge lasting relationships that will push the boundaries of our creative work.
