Dance Workshops - Freewheelers Theatre And Media

Our Dance Workshops are very popular and we run three workshops with three different groups. Dance is a fun way for our members to keep active, interact with one another and building friendships.

Current Projects

The Tuesday dance group are currently working on two projects. In July this year, they will be joining forces with the media group to put on the final performance of Amandla! at the Harlequin Theatre in Redhill. Visit our Productions page for more details.

They are also working on a production about the life of painter, Edgar Degas, part of which was premiered at last year’s showcase. This is for a performance in 2019.

The Thursday morning dance group is working on their own version of Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ and by complete contrast, working in pairs, they have been choreographing their own piece based on plants growing.

The Thursday afternoon group have been learning musical theatre dance and incorporating it into their version of ‘Be My Guest’ from Beauty and the Beast. The second piece, ‘Shades’, has seen the dancers working on their own improvisation skills.

The Thursday dancers will be performing their dances at our Easter Showcase at the Nomad Theatre on 21st March 2018. Find out more here.
